Background and Early Life

Adam Bennett Schiff was born on June 22, 1960. He grew up in the Bay Area and graduated from Monte Vista High School in Danville. After completing his undergraduate studies at Stanford University, he went on to obtain a law degree from Harvard Law School.

Political Career

Schiff began his political career as a prosecutor in the United States Attorney's Office for the Central District of California. In 2000, he was elected to the California State Senate, where he served until 2002.

In 2002, Schiff was elected to the United States House of Representatives, representing California's 28th congressional district. In 2013, the district boundaries were redrawn, and Schiff began representing California's 30th congressional district.

Current Role and Responsibilities

Schiff is currently serving his 12th term in the House of Representatives. He is a member of the House Intelligence Committee and serves as the chairman of the House Select Committee on Intelligence.
